FUN ~ Masters swimming is a happy alternative to swimming lengths of a pool alone. The program offers varied workouts to introduce new skills and refine old ones.

FITNESS ~ Masters swimming helps reduce weight, improves the aerobic system, strengthens almost all the body's muscles (especially the heart), and increases overall fitness at a controlled rate.

FRIENDSHIP ~ Masters swimmers enjoy the companionship of friends with common interests and common goals.

CHALLENGING ~ A chance to improve your strokes and delay the aging process; a chance to pit your body against its former self and win.

COMPETITION ~ Some masters swimmers (about 20%) enjoy competition as a means of measuring their progress. For them, Masters Swimming offers opportunities to compete at interclub swimming meets. If you're interested in seeing how fast some Masters swimmers are, see the Masters Results and Records at Masters Swimming Canada.
